Binh Dinh wants to attract more technology businesses

According to the Binh Dinh Investment Promotion Center, the above results come from the fact that the locality always focuses on removing difficulties and creating favorable conditions for businesses to operate in order to ensure production growth according to the plan. In addition, authorities at all levels have resolutely implemented compensation, site clearance and focused on investing in the construction and completion of infrastructure in Nhon Hoi Economic Zone and industrial parks and clusters in the province to attract investment. At the same time, they have urged businesses to quickly implement projects, especially projects that have been registered and granted investment licenses.

To increase investment attraction in the coming time, in addition to promoting investment in key areas, Binh Dinh province has effectively implemented a number of key programs such as administrative reform to improve provincial competitiveness. The province has proactively reduced the time to process investment procedures from 35 days to 25 days (currently considering reducing to 20 days) and issued a regulation on coordination in handling administrative procedures on investment, construction, land, environment and fire prevention and fighting in the province.

Binh Dinh also aims to attract large technology businesses to turn it into a technology hub.

Mr. Ho Quoc Dung, Secretary of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee, said: "Digital transformation and building Binh Dinh into an AI center of the region and the world are identified as one of the key tasks of the province."

At the recent Vietnam Science and Technology Day event, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan hoped that science and technology researchers would have bold thoughts and steps to help the province develop in this field. In particular, it is necessary to promote the scientific and technological values and innovation that Binh Dinh has that other provinces and cities in the region and the whole country do not have, thereby turning these projects into concrete results, not limited to the province.

3 factors for Binh Dinh to welcome "eagles"

Sharing about the issue of attracting businesses to invest in Binh Dinh, FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh said that Binh Dinh is aiming for a big goal of becoming the AI center of the region and the world. To do this, the province needs to create 3 differences.

"First, this place must become fertile ground for technology companies and startups to develop. Second, Binh Dinh must become a cradle for AI training and research, with AI human resources trained properly since they were students. Third, Binh Dinh must become the largest market for AI. Digital transformation is difficult, becoming an AI center is even more difficult. We need to commit so that by 2045, the 100th anniversary of national independence, Binh Dinh will become the leading AI center in the region and the world," Mr. Binh shared.

Sharing more about these 3 points, FPT General Director Nguyen Van Khoa said that FPT wishes to accompany Binh Dinh to reach the goal: Making this place become the AI center of the region and the world. To do this, it is necessary to create 3 differences:

Firstly, this place must become an attractive destination for technology companies, startups, components of the high-tech supply chain, etc. with preferential investment policies such as income tax policy and social security quality.

Second, Binh Dinh must become a cradle of AI training and research, with AI human resources trained systematically from school age to university and postgraduate level.

Third, Binh Dinh must become the most attractive market in the field of AI. This is also an opportunity to nurture local talent, attract labor resources from all over the world to Binh Dinh, to Vietnam through open policies on visas and labor procedures for foreigners.

FPT has committed to investing more than VND 2,000 billion in the Complex of Research, Production and Training Center for Technology Experts in Quy Nhon, Binh Dinh. The project has a scale of about 94 hectares with a total investment of more than VND 4,362 billion. FPT Corporation will build a modern urban area in terms of space organization, architecture, landscape; synchronize technical infrastructure and social infrastructure systems with the main characteristics of an artificial intelligence urban area. Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee is particularly interested in attracting investment in the fields of science and technology, comprehensive digital transformation. In particular, for infrastructure such as the international fiber optic cable landing in Quy Nhon with the largest capacity ever.

“Binh Dinh should have a mechanism to attract large corporations to invest in the province to attract science and technology human resources to meet the current trend of exporting human resources. In addition, it is necessary to increase the scale of enrollment and training of universities and colleges in the province, contributing to increasing the supply of human resources to support the growth of local businesses,” FPT General Director Nguyen Van Khoa shared.
