Gia Dinh High School
The school was established in 1956, belonging to Nguyen Duy Khang parish, with priest Vu Khoa Cu as director, so it is called Nguyen Duy Khang Private School.
After the country's reunification, the school was nationalized and established Thanh My Tay Secondary and High School. In 1995, the name was changed to Gia Dinh Secondary and High School.
In 1999, the school separated from secondary school and became Gia Dinh High School as it is today.
In 2017, Gia Dinh High School handed over the old facility and received the newly built facility at 44 D3 Street, Ward 25, Binh Thanh District.
The school is famous for its quality of education, and is one of the schools with very high annual 10th grade benchmark scores. In addition, the school is often ranked at the top in exam results such as national excellent students, city excellent students, 30/4 Olympics, etc.
Nguyen Huu Huan High School
The school was established in 1962, named Thu Duc High School. In the 1965 school year, the Thu Duc University Construction Management Board agreed to let the Ministry of Education rent a plot of land with an area of 15,588m2 at a symbolic price of 1 dong/m2/year, for a period of 99 years, to be used as a facility for the school.
On this plot of land, there are 5 classrooms for the Tan Sinh hamlet program. Over time, more classrooms were built, of which 4 were sponsored by the Deputy Minister of Commerce, 4 were built by the Ministry of Education, and the rest were mostly contributed by the parents' association.
Over the past 60 years, Nguyen Huu Huan High School has undergone many name changes. In 1973, the school was renamed Hoang Dao High School; in 1975, it was renamed Nguyen Huu Huan High School; in 1980, it was renamed Nguyen Huu Huan High School; in 1993, it was renamed Nguyen Huu Huan Specialized High School. In 2000, the school returned to its name Nguyen Huu Huan High School.
In 2003, the school started construction with modern facilities. In addition to classrooms, there are physics - chemistry - biology laboratories, computer rooms, labs, audio-visual rooms and more than 10 other functional rooms...
Sharing with VietNamNet, Mr. Do Duong Cung - Principal of Nguyen Huu Huan High School - said that the school is increasingly receiving attention from students. According to him, the school determined that in order to do a good job of management, it must pay attention to the quality of education, including the students' learning and living, and at the same time focus on psychological education.
“We also stand in the role of parents to know what they need and then do it well. Suppose I am a parent, when I send my child to school, what do I expect from the school? Nguyen Thuong Hien High School
Established in late 1969, the school was originally called Tan Binh High School. In the first school year, the school rented a temporary location at Nhan Van Private School (now Bang Van Tran Primary School). At that time, the school only accepted 10 classes at the junior high school level.
In 1970, teachers and students moved to a new school, which is located at the current location of Nguyen Thuong Hien High School (544 Le Van Duyet Street, now 544 Cach Mang Thang 8 Street, Tan Binh District). In 1973, the school was renamed Nguyen Thuong Hien High School. In 1985, the school was renamed Nguyen Van Troi High School, but then returned to its original name, Nguyen Thuong Hien High School.
For many years, the school has always had the highest 10th grade entrance score among more than 100 public high schools in Ho Chi Minh City.
Commenting on this, former Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Van Ngai said that in recent years, parents have had more conditions and have paid more attention and invested in their children's education, especially when the number of children in families is limited. Nguyen Thuong Hien High School, along with schools such as Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Nguyen Huu Huan, Gia Dinh... are the top schools in recruiting students for grade 10 in the city, so they are very popular with parents because they want to choose a good school for their children to study.
On the other hand, according to Mr. Ngai, this is a good school in both teaching and facilities. Therefore, most parents whose children have sufficient academic qualifications (mainly excellent and fair students) all hope to have a place to study here. Meanwhile, the school's enrollment quota is limited according to regulations. Therefore, the annual 10th grade benchmark of Nguyen Thuong Hien High School is pushed up very high.
