The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requested the three airports of Dong Hoi, Phu Bai, and Chu Lai to immediately deploy plans to prevent storm No. 6 Tra Mi.
To proactively respond to storm Tra Mi, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam continues to request agencies and units to organize 24/7 on-duty.
Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation strengthens the work of ensuring the quality of meteorological information, continuously monitors the weather situation in the area of responsibility, and updates forecasts and warnings.
Due to the complicated developments of storm Tra Mi, the Department requires airlines to closely coordinate with the Weather Warning Center (MWO) to regularly update information on rain and storms. In case of needing to adjust flight schedules, fly early, or make up flights to relieve passengers, please report immediately to the Department for timely handling.
“Airlines must notify passengers about storms and rain so that they can proactively arrange their schedules accordingly,” the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam directed.
The three airports in the storm-affected area, including Phu Bai, Da Nang, and Chu Lai, need to immediately deploy plans to prevent rain, storms, flooding, and clear the flow of water in the port to minimize damage.
The storm is not expected to be severe, however, heavy rains may cause localized flooding. Therefore, the Department requires airports to have plans to raise and position equipment in the airport and passenger terminals, and regularly check the condition of equipment to have a solution to ensure that operations are not interrupted.
