The 2024 Industry and Trade E-commerce and Digital Economy Forum will take place on November 21 at the Foreign Affairs Hotel (Hanoi) with about 1,000 delegates attending.
In recent years, digital transformation and digital economic development have been identified as important drivers of economic growth. In 2023, Google, Temaek and Bain & Company recognized Vietnam as the country with the fastest digital economic growth in Southeast Asia with a total merchandise value (GMV) of 30 billion USD, expected to reach nearly 45 billion USD by 2025. E-commerce and digital economy are important pillars in the development orientation of the Industry and Trade sector until 2030.

Implementing the Government's policies and orientations on digital transformation, e-commerce and digital economy development (Decision No. 749/QD-TTg on the National Digital Transformation Program to 2025, with a vision to 2030; Decision No. 645/QD-TTg on the National E-commerce Development Master Plan for the 2021-2025 period; Decision No. 411/QD-TTg on the National Strategy for Digital Economy and Digital Society Development to 2025, with a vision to 2030); at the same time, in order to meet the practical needs of enterprises in the industry and trade sector in implementing digital transformation, the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (Ministry of Industry and Trade) coordinates with relevant units to organize the National Event on E-commerce to promote digital economic development of the industry and trade sector 2024 (Vietnam Digital Industry and Trade Summit 2024).
The event will focus on three areas: E-commerce development; digital transformation in the manufacturing and processing industry; electricity and energy with the theme "Promoting digital transformation and green transformation towards sustainable development".
The event will take place on November 21 at the Foreign Affairs Hotel, 33C Pham Ngu Lao, Hanoi with 1 Plenary Session and 2 Specialized Workshops including Topic 1: "Digital Transformation - Green Transformation in Production and Energy"; Topic 2: "Trends of Sustainable E-Commerce Development in the Digital Age".
This year's forum will have the participation of 1,000 delegates from ministries, departments, relevant units under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Departments of Industry and Trade of provinces/cities; associations, businesses, experts in the field of e-commerce and digital economy; press and media agencies nationwide.
The event was organized to evaluate and discuss the current status of digital transformation of enterprises in the Industry and Trade sector, and at the same time connect reputable digital transformation solution providers to accompany and support this digital transformation process of enterprises.
The representative of the Organizing Committee said that this is not only a place to share knowledge from leading experts, but also a "bridge" for businesses in the industry and trade sector to digitally transform and effectively apply e-commerce to create momentum for the development of the digital economy in the industry and trade sector in a focused, effective, green and sustainable direction.
