Attractive to readers

In March, Life and Law Magazine celebrates the 23rd anniversary of the publication of its first issue (March 2, 2001 - March 2, 2024). This is also an opportunity for each member of the editorial board of Life and Law Magazine to review past memories in the process of igniting passion for the profession and sticking with the growing collective.

After 23 years of construction and development, the former Life and Law Newspaper and the current Life and Law Magazine have made great strides in all aspects.

In the flow of the 4.0 industrial revolution, users have shifted to digital platforms and network environments. Following the general flow, we have built and developed content on electronic publications, in which besides the Nguoi Dua Tin Electronic Magazine (Domain name: nguoiduatin.vn), there are also many attractive and unique specialized pages. However, there are still many readers who come to printed newspapers every day as an indispensable spiritual food. To serve that need, we - the journalists - still diligently bring to readers printed newspapers with the color of time but full of the breath of the times.

Event - 23 years of Life and Law through the lens of loyal readers

The former Life and Law Newspaper and the present Life and Law Magazine have made great strides in all aspects.

Every morning at 4am, Mr. Phan Ngoc Long (born in 1965) - a newspaper distributor and also a loyal reader of the Life and Law Magazine, is present at 17 Ly Nam De to do the distribution duty. Nearly 20 years of working with Life and Law is the time he feels most clearly the readers' interest in the newspaper.

“I chose Life and Law Magazine to publish by chance. I came to the magazine to apply to be a distributor in the Northern region because I realized that the magazine, which was previously a newspaper, had its own style, attractive content, and many impressive series of articles. Just like that, people working in distribution like me also benefited because readers often read Life and Law Magazine,” said Mr. Long.

Mr. Long also said that, as a professional in publishing printed newspapers, in the past ten years he has also noticed a clear change in readers. “They are gradually moving to the Internet more, the number of printed newspapers is now much lower than before. As for Life and Law, I see that the purchasing power was great in the past, and it was also one of the top best-selling major newspapers.”

Currently, newsstands in Hanoi all sell the publication of Life and Law Magazine such as: No. 5 Hang Trong, Cua Nam, Quan Thanh, Phan Dinh Phung, 92 Hang Bong...

Every day, after delivering the newspaper, Mr. Long sips a cup of tea and reads articles in Life and Law. Mr. Long said that he is also one of the loyal readers of Life and Law Magazine. "I hope the newspaper will develop more and more and bring more interesting and useful information to readers nationwide," Mr. Long said.

“I buy newspapers every day.”

In the mind of Mr. Nguyen Dang Dong (76 years old, Ba Dinh, Hanoi), the cars with loudspeakers selling newspapers from years ago left him with many impressions.

He recalls that in the past, there were newspaper vendors on bicycles carrying many types of newspapers with the call “Please read An ninh Thu do, Doi song va Phap luat…” These familiar “newspaper reviews” from years ago have been deeply imprinted in the minds of readers nationwide. “Whenever I heard the call, I had to run out and buy a copy of Doi song va Phap luat,” Mr. Dong said.

At that time, Life and Law was one of the newspapers that Mr. Dong's friends often read. Because the content is close to readers, there is a lot of good and attractive information. "Through reading Life and Law Magazine, I can grasp accurate information and legal policies that are close to the people. From there, I have a correct perception of the issues and events that are happening every hour, every day and not be distracted by false information," Mr. Dong shared.

Holding the Life and Law newspaper in his hand, Mr. Dong said he usually reads hot news first, then reads in-depth articles, new legal policies...

As a loyal reader of Life and Law, Mr. Dong assessed that Life and Law Magazine has constantly innovated both in content and presentation form, the quality of the works has quickly and promptly reflected issues that the public is interested in, with a panoramic view of all aspects of life, politics, economy - society...

Ms. Pham Thi Cuc (65 years old, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi) is also one of the long-time readers of Life and Law. “I have been a reader of Life and Law Magazine for many years now. The reason I chose to read it is that in previous years I often went to the newsstand and was impressed by the beautifully designed, easy-to-read newspaper. I bought it to read and found the content very interesting and impressive, from articles related to law, to stories about life around us that are very close to us,” Ms. Cuc said.

Since then, Ms. Cuc does not remember how long she has been attached to Life and Law, but she only knows that every time the magazine came out, she had to find and buy it. “At that time, information was not as convenient as it is now, so buying a newspaper was very precious, the whole family passed it around to read. After reading, they kept it carefully so that if they wanted to read it again later, they would have something to read. Just like that, my whole family and I became close readers of Life and Law Magazine,” Ms. Cuc shared, adding that nowadays, few people read printed newspapers, but she still kept the habit of buying and reading newspapers every day.

Ms. Cuc hopes that Life and Law Magazine will always develop and bring lots of good and interesting information to readers near and far.

Mr. Le Tu Hoang is engrossed in reading the newspaper.

Also one of the readers who has been closely involved in the development of Life and Law Magazine, Mr. Le Tu Hoang (74 years old, Ngoc Khanh, Hanoi) said that many years ago, when mentioning Life and Law, everyone knew.

According to Mr. Hoang, the content of the Life and Law Magazine is the decisive factor and attracts a large number of readers who are interested and follow it regularly. People in his generation are very fond of reading printed newspapers, because in the past, printed newspapers were the main way to receive information. "Every time I bought a newspaper, I forgot to eat and read it enthusiastically. Life and Law has a lot of attractive and interesting information and just holding the newspaper is enough to grasp all the news that happened in the past day or two," said Mr. Hoang.

In addition, the hotline of Life and Law Magazine always receives phone calls from readers across the country to give feedback and suggestions whenever the Magazine changes its form, design, or changes its columns... Listening to the sincere comments from readers is the motivation for the magazine's team of reporters and editors to strive harder and harder to research and improve to bring accurate and attractive information to serve readers nationwide.

"Until today, everywhere, from the border to the islands, from the city to the countryside, from the stormy Truong Sa to the misty highland schools, there are footprints of reporters from the Life and Law Magazine. And following their footsteps - the courageous steps with a lot of sweat, tears, dedication and enthusiasm - is timely, attractive, honest and accurate information present in the magazine that is loved and trusted by a large number of readers nationwide...", Editor-in-Chief of Life and Law Magazine Nguyen Tien Thanh .
