Earlier on the evening of April 9, many parents whose children study at Vo Thi Sau Primary School (District 7, Ho Chi Minh City) reported that in the afternoon of the same day, after returning home from school, their children vomited a lot, could not eat, had stomachaches and fever. By the morning of April 10, this condition had not improved, so the family took them to the hospital for examination.

Mr. Phan Thanh Phong - Principal of Vo Thi Sau Primary School said that as soon as receiving information from parents, the school reported the incident to the Health Department, Health Center and Department of Education & Training of District 7 to ask for instructions on how to handle it.

Also on the morning of April 10, the school's medical department counted and heard reports from homeroom teachers. There were 21 students absent from school due to stomachaches, vomiting, and some had diarrhea since the night of April 9. By noon on April 10, the students' condition had stabilized. Families and the school are actively monitoring the students' condition.

In addition, class 3/6 also recently recorded another student with similar symptoms, who was hospitalized this morning for health monitoring.

The children’s health condition has temporarily stabilized. The specific cause is being clarified by the health sector in coordination with relevant units.

It is known that Vo Thi Sau Primary School is currently using industrial meals for boarding students. The school's boarding meal on April 9 includes the following dishes: Fried chicken wings with fish sauce, stir-fried chayote with carrots, sour cabbage soup and Dutch Lady strawberry sterilized fresh milk. The menu also states that Vo Thi Sau Primary School's boarding meals are provided by Xich Long Food Company Limited.

Immediately after the incident, the school sealed and kept food samples from April 9 to serve the inspection and traceability work.
