According to the Michelin Guide, Chay Garden Restaurant (District 3) is located at the end of a quiet alley in the heart of bustling Ho Chi Minh City. This vegetarian restaurant serves delicious, affordable Vietnamese dishes, such as braised eggplant with banana and tofu.

“The old house has a leafy courtyard, providing the perfect backdrop for the fine dining experience here. The small dining rooms are thoughtfully and attractively furnished, and one room features a colorful fresco,” the Michelin Guide recommends.

Michelin Guide introduces Chay Garden

Before this prestigious award, Chay Garden said the restaurant was very happy and honored to be one of 16 restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City to receive the Bib Gourmand award on June 6.

For the restaurant, the recognition from Michelin Guide is a testament to the dedication of the Chay Garden team to bring diners a safe and complete multi-sensory culinary experience. This is also the motivation for the "vegetarian garden" to continue its journey of exploring and creating dishes made from plants.

The restaurant's braised eggplant with banana dish is recommended.

The restaurant's dishes are diverse and eye-catching.

Commenting on Chay Garden, chef Vo Quoc also said: "The food is presented simply but very beautifully, from the bowls to the napkins, the dishes are prepared in a unique way and are very delicious, but a bit sweet for me. The restaurant's drinks are homemade, so they are unique, delicious and very healthy."

Top vegetarian restaurants in the world

Hum Vegetarian Restaurant Branch (Thu Duc City) recently received the Bib Gourmand restaurant award and was also voted 10th in the list of 25 best vegetarian restaurants in the world in 2021 by TripAdvisor.

The Michelin Guide has high praise for Hum's dishes.

Sharing with Thanh Nien , the restaurant representative said that Hum has been present in Ho Chi Minh City for more than 10 years with many branches. The restaurant menu has nearly 65 dishes and 90 drinks, with prices ranging from 70,000 - 300,000 VND/dish. The average spending of each customer here is about 350,000 - 400,000 VND for a meal.

“Also vegetables and fruits, but dishes with plants can completely achieve “culinary beauty”, sophistication in color, aroma, and taste. We hope to serve plant dishes that help diners have many emotions, feel cared for, and have their senses fulfilled… Regarding taste, we have our own secrets to create dishes with flavors that are hard to mix,” the restaurant said. The chefs here do not use MSG but season and adjust the natural flavors of vegetables and fruits.

Ms. Phan Thanh Thao (26 years old, Thu Duc City) - a regular customer of the restaurant said that what makes her come back here often is the open, meditative space of the restaurant, focusing on growing green trees to create a feeling of closeness to nature.

“Every time I feel pressured or stressed at work, I often invite my friends to come here to eat. The sophistication in the flavors of the dishes made entirely from plants and the comfortable space help all fatigue disappear,” said a diner.
