At around 10:00 a.m. on April 23, upon receiving information that a patient in the emergency room at Thanh Hoa Children's Hospital needed type O blood, Senior Lieutenant Le Trong Quyen and Lieutenant Nguyen Trung Duc, officers of the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of Thanh Hoa Provincial Police, promptly arrived and donated blood to save the life.
The patient is Luc Ph. Th. (born in 2017, in Tao village, Trung Ly commune, Muong Lat district) who has a serious illness and was hospitalized with very low hematological indicators, life-threatening.
Thanh Hoa Children's Hospital has tried to coordinate with Thanh Hoa Provincial General Hospital to rescue the patient, but the provincial General Hospital's hematology department lacks blood type O compatible with Th., and the patient's family is also unable to donate blood.
The patient's family is in a difficult situation. Th.'s father is a Mong ethnic and does not know Kinh, so communication is difficult. To take Th. to the Children's Hospital for emergency treatment, the Trung Ly Commune Police (Muong Lat) and his family had to travel nearly 200 km, so the patient's health was very weak.
Trung Ly Commune Police shared information and called for and mobilized support for blood donation to save lives.
Thanks to the timely blood donation of Senior Lieutenant Le Trong Quyen and Lieutenant Nguyen Trung Duc, along with the dedicated treatment of doctors and nurses at Thanh Hoa Children's Hospital and Thanh Hoa General Hospital, Luc Ph. Th. has overcome the critical stage.
The patient's health is being monitored and treated according to hospital protocol.
