Last September, the Department also approved the estimated cost of preparing for the investment in the above intersection. In this pre-feasibility study report step, specialized units surveyed and collected data from projects such as Can Gio Bridge, Rung Sac Road, and Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway.

Units also collect information on socio-economics, topography, geology, hydrology and existing technical infrastructure in the area to include in the pre-feasibility study report to submit to competent authorities for consideration, appraisal and decision on investment policy.

Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway, which started construction in 2014, has a length of 57.1km and a cost of over VND29,500 billion. It is expected that in November, a 3.4km section from the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway (Long An) to National Highway 1A (Ho Chi Minh City) and a 6.1km section from the Phuoc An Intersection to the National Highway 51 Intersection (Dong Nai Province) will be put into operation; the entire route will be put into operation in September 2025.

Ho Chi Minh City is studying to invest in an intersection connecting Rung Sac Street with Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway to help people in the Southeast region and the Mekong Delta reach Can Gio district by expressway conveniently. The investment cost of this intersection is estimated at about 2,400 billion VND.

In addition, Ho Chi Minh City also plans to invest in two more large intersections connecting this highway at National Highway 50 (Binh Chanh District) and Nguyen Van Tao Street (Nha Be District).
