Encouragingly, out of 15.6 million visitors, nearly 2.6 million were international tourists, mainly from markets such as China, South Korea, Taiwan, the United States, India, France, Australia, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Japan.

In the first nine months of the year, Quang Ninh province continued to implement many solutions and programs to offer year-round tourism experiences; affirming its status as a year-round, unmissable destination for domestic and international tourists; focusing on developing tourism products associated with the unique values of Quang Ninh tourism such as Ha Long Bay, Bai Tu Long Bay, and the Yen Tu National Special Historical Site.

Particularly during the Lunar New Year holiday, the number of visitors increased significantly compared to the same period in 2023. The province has focused on implementing and launching 62 new tourism products in 2024, such as: organizing the Ha Long Carnival 2024; the Lighthouse entertainment complex (including cuisine , experiences, and art performances); high-class cruise services (Grand Pioneers 2 cruise ship), high-quality services connecting Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay (tour: “Heritage Journey”,island and sea tourism ); opening the Wyndham Garden Sonasea Resort in the Sonasea Van Don Harbor City complex;... At the same time, it continues to effectively utilize the Ha Long International Cruise Port, thereby attracting more international tourists to Ha Long Bay and Quang Ninh province.

The Costa Serena cruise ship made its first arrival at Ha Long International Cruise Port on September 30th.

However, in early September, Quang Ninh was the area most severely affected by Typhoon No. 3. The tourism sector alone suffered significant damage, with 27 tourist boats sinking and currently being salvaged; many accommodation vessels sustained broken windows, damage, and the sinking of transfer boats. Several hotels suffered damaged windows, blown-off roofs, and collapsed restaurants. Amusement park equipment was damaged and has not yet reopened to visitors; there is a power outage…

Although tourism activities were disrupted for about a week after Typhoon No. 3, thanks to the concerted efforts of the entire political system and the people, the province's tourism industry has partially recovered. Some accommodation and tourism establishments have reopened and are welcoming tourists. Ha Long Bay has received many tour groups. From September 8th to 16th, nearly 14,500 international tourists and 3,450 domestic tourists stayed in Quang Ninh. The total number of tourists visiting Ha Long Bay was 18,862; the number of tourists staying overnight in the bay was 4,169.
