GĐXH - Children will reveal their talents through the smallest signs...
Dr. Kumar Mehta is the founder of Bridges Insight, an institute for innovation and excellence. He is also a senior fellow at the Center for the Digital Future and a member of the Committee for Children, an education nonprofit.
Speaking to CNBC, Dr. Mehta said that high scores or outstanding performance on tests are not always a sign that a child is naturally gifted.
Although there is no general formula to determine exactly, researchers and educational psychologists have pointed out some characteristics that can indicate high potential in children.

So what should you do when you see your child's potential early?
After years of studying people who are in the top 1% of their fields, Dr. Kumar Mehta found that the most important step parents can take is to create an environment where their children can develop a positive relationship with the things they are interested in.
Find creative ways to get your child involved.
Exposing your child to things related to their interests is essential to developing their talents.
For example, if your child likes science, visiting children's science museums can provide hands-on experiences that will help them learn more about this field.
You can also provide your child with creative tools like egg cartons, cardboard boxes, paper towel rolls, etc.
When Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran's father realized that music was the most important thing in his son's life, he took the initiative to take him to concerts every week in the hopes that he would find what he was looking for.
For professional golfer Tony Finau's family, the family couldn't afford to take him to the course to practice, so his father paid $2 for a golf club and bag of golf balls from the Salvation Army – and Finau used them to practice hitting balls into the mattress.
Expose children to talented, like-minded people
Research shows that children's skills develop faster when they interact with, learn from, or feel inspired by people with similar talents.
Iten, a small town on the edge of Kenya's Rift Valley, is home to many of the world's top distance runners.
"You see your neighbor running and winning, it motivates you to do the same," coach Bernard Ouma - who trains Kenya's elite athletes - shared in an interview on CNN.
When children see those around them shining in an activity, they are motivated to improve themselves and excel even more.
Find the right influencer
No one achieves greatness alone. Sometimes, parents have to take a bigger view to help their children, meet their needs by finding a mentor, a person of influence.
However, it is important to talk with your child to ensure that everyone is on the same page, on the same page, and committed to maintaining this mentoring relationship.
This doesn't have to be someone with more experience. Research shows that the people who have the biggest influence on your child are likely to be their friends.
The relationship between the Beatles is an example. John Lennon and Paul McCartney were both talented, but they probably would not have achieved the success they had together.
Building positive family values
Family values are a solid foundation of guidance and acceptance.
Research shows that children who feel strongly supported, respected and connected reach their full potential.
However, Dr Kumar Mehta believes that putting too much pressure on children can be harmful. When children feel that every homework assignment, football match or exam... is crucial to their future, that pressure can negatively affect their development and passion.
