(Dan Tri) - Mr. Manh Duc and a group of sports-loving friends quickly booked a tour to Thailand on January 4 to cheer on the Vietnamese football team in the second leg of the final match on January 5.
After the 2-1 victory over Thailand at Viet Tri Stadium (Phu Tho), the Vietnamese team happily advanced to the final of the 2024 ASEAN Cup. As soon as the whistle blew, Manh Duc (32 years old, Hanoi) sent a message to a group of football enthusiasts, inviting them to book a tour early to be in time to go to Thailand to cheer for the second leg match. "We immediately paid the deposit to be in time for the departure date," Duc said. On the night of January 2, many travel companies immediately launched football cheering tours for the second leg final match between Vietnam and Thailand at Rajamangala National Stadium in Bangkok, taking place at 8:00 p.m. on January 5. Accordingly, the tours are designed in a variety of ways to serve the needs of tourists. Some tours have a basic program of 2 days, including one day to watch football and one day to visit Bangkok. This is also a tour chosen by many customers with prices starting from 11 million VND/person. Tour price includes airfare, stadium entrance fee, 4-star hotel accommodation and other food and accommodation services.

However, right after Vietnam won the first leg against Thailand, many travel agencies launched additional 3-day/4-day tours, even 5-day road tours priced from 9.9 million VND/person. According to a survey by Dan Tri reporters, with a 3-day - 4-day itinerary departing from January 3 to January 7 with prices starting from 14 million VND, tourists will receive shuttle bus services, football match buses, 4-star hotels, meals during the day and sightseeing spots around Bangkok. Although this is not a cheap price compared to traditional Thailand tours (from 7 million VND), many fans still accept to pay. Many travel agencies even have to stay up all night to answer questions, complete procedures for customers to book tours, and receive deposits from customers. Ms. Vu Thi Bich Hue, Head of Communications and Marketing Department of Flamingo Redtours Company, said that right after the Vietnamese team won, the number of customers booking tours increased rapidly. "The match ended late at night, but we still received many customers transferring deposits to reserve seats for the night. Right on the evening of January 2 and the morning of January 3, we have sold 70% of the expected seats," Ms. Hue informed. Also on this occasion, Flamingo Redtours launched a 3-day, 2-night tour with prices starting at 13.9 million VND, bringing Vietnamese customers to Thailand to cheer on the national football team.

In addition to the package tour, fans can travel independently or with the Free & Easy service (a form of travel in which visitors only need to book basic services in advance to prepare for the trip instead of buying a package tour) with individual services such as tickets to the final match, air tickets, hotels, etc. According to Ms. Hue, the Free & Easy service is chosen by many Vietnamese visitors because of its simple procedures, many flights with short travel times and visitors can take the initiative in their departure and return times. A representative of Vietravel said that the unit has opened sales of tours with charter flights (chartering the entire flight) directly to Thailand. By the end of January 2, the total number of seats on 4 charter flights offered by the unit for the day reached more than 50% of the plan. With these tours, visitors are given additional red flag t-shirts with yellow stars, headbands and baseballs. In addition to watching football, tourists go sightseeing according to the schedule, to famous places in the capital Bangkok such as the Four-Faced Buddha, Wat Arun, Wat Yanawa or go shopping freely... Meanwhile, Ms. Ngoc Cham, Head of Sales Department of Top One Travel, said that the victory of the national team on the evening of January 2 created "special heat for the Thailand tour". Currently, this unit has sold out all the expected tickets. According to Ms. Cham, the tour departing on January 3 is also receiving attention from customers, with prices starting from 9.9 million VND. The tour is designed to travel by road with a 5-day journey, combining watching the football final and visiting the two countries of Thailand and Laos. It is known that some travel agencies are coordinating with Vietnam Airlines to review bookings to add more seats, promptly serving fans.
