President Vo Van Thuong affirmed that we are proud to have a revolutionary press that was born and developed from the requirements of the great revolutionary cause of the nation, under the leadership of the Party, founded and founded by President Ho Chi Minh.
Over the glorious 98-year history, the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press has always accompanied the nation, been a reliable shock force of the Party and State, pioneered on all ideological and cultural fronts, and made important contributions to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland and building the spiritual foundation of society.
Generations of journalists - soldiers on the ideological and cultural front - have worked, contributed and devoted themselves to noble political tasks, building a press that is truly the voice of the Party and State, a forum and a trusted bridge between the people and the Party and State.
Promoting the glorious tradition of revolutionary journalism, following in the footsteps of generations of journalists and soldiers who have been trained through the long struggles for national liberation, national unification, building and defending the Fatherland, the team of journalists today is growing stronger and more mature, improving their political qualities and professional capacity, and is striving to gradually master modern journalism technology.

Promoting the vanguard role of soldiers on the ideological and cultural front, the press, regardless of difficulties and hardships, voluntarily commits itself, bravely rushes into action, is present at the focal points of social life, fulfills well the responsibilities and missions of revolutionary journalists, makes important contributions to building social consensus, great national unity, strongly arouses patriotism and noble aspirations for a prosperous and happy Vietnam.
On the occasion of the 98th anniversary of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press, in the joy, honor and pride of the profession of journalists, we remember and express our gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh, our teacher and the founder of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press. We respectfully pay tribute to the great contributions of generations of journalists through the ages, including many journalists who heroically sacrificed for the revolutionary cause of fighting for national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland.
President Vo Van Thuong assessed that in 2022, in the context of many difficulties and challenges after the Covid-19 pandemic, the international situation became increasingly complicated, volatile and unpredictable, the press accompanied the entire Party, people and army in socio-economic recovery and development.
With their intelligence, passion for the country and serious work, journalists have analyzed, interpreted and sought solutions to important socio-economic issues and issues of public concern; vividly reflecting the country and people of Vietnam, who are friendly, peace-loving and want to be friends and reliable partners with international friends.
The team of journalists has left many marks, being more responsive in the fight against corruption and negativity; sharper in protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views; protecting the sovereignty of seas and islands, protecting the environment, responding to climate change; preserving and promoting national cultural identity, educating human values and human dignity; promoting digital transformation in all fields...
The press has discovered, introduced, encouraged, and spread many new, typical, advanced factors, good practices, creative models, good people, good deeds, and actively fought against bad habits, vices, and signs of moral and lifestyle degradation.
President Vo Van Thuong was delighted that the National Press Awards are receiving more and more attention and participation from the press and the public. The President highly appreciated the 2022 award-winning works, which continue to affirm the revolutionary nature, scientific nature, acumen, creativity, noble professional ideals and tireless dedication of journalists.
The President emphasized that we are approaching an important historical milestone - 100 years of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press. We are in the pivotal year of the 13th National Party Congress with many great tasks, requiring political determination and greater efforts to realize the aspirations and visions for national development in the new period, posing increasingly heavy tasks, honors and responsibilities for the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press, requiring journalists and press agencies to make more efforts to be worthy of the people's trust, meeting the requirements: "Building a professional, humane and modern press and media".
The President requested that press agencies and journalists must be highly aware of their responsibility to the Party, the State, the people, and the readers for the mission they undertake. Journalists must always be deeply aware that “doing journalism is doing revolution, journalists are pioneers on the ideological and cultural front of the Party”, “the duty of journalism is to serve the people, to serve the revolution” as President Ho Chi Minh once advised.
President Vo Van Thuong and Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia presented the A prize to the author and representative of the author group. |
On the basis of being steadfast in the ideals and noble values of journalism, adhering to basic principles, preserving core values, professional ideals, pure and humane professional ethics, upholding social responsibility, constantly being creative, providing timely, accurate, objective, truthful, useful and trustworthy information to the Party, State and people.
The team of journalists continues to demonstrate their mettle, dedication, and leadership in major, new, and difficult issues of the country, closely following the vivid realities of social life, the cause of innovation, national construction, and defense, promptly and vividly reflecting the great, historical achievements that the country has achieved under the leadership of the Party.
Press agencies propagate the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, provide useful information, improve people's knowledge, expand social democracy, promote the role of the press in monitoring and social criticism. Accompany the government, businesses, people... in finding solutions to solve problems arising in practice.
The press attracts the active participation of citizens in building a socialist rule-of-law state, building institutions, formulating policies and legal documents, and performing the role of supervising the power and performance of public duties by officials and civil servants in the administrative apparatus...
The press must be the leading flag, connecting and mobilizing resources, including intelligence, sense of responsibility and inspiration, dynamism, creativity and dedication of the entire people; nurturing, inspiring and encouraging the aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country, the will to overcome difficulties and challenges and optimism, belief in the bright future of the nation; building and promoting the great national unity bloc, creating a strong driving force for development.
The press resolutely fights to contribute to eliminating what still hinders, restrains, and harms the country's development process. In the context of increasingly diverse and multi-dimensional information, many new and unverified issues, false information, and plots to take advantage of freedom and democracy to go against the values and goals that the revolutionary press has been striving for, the press needs to be proactive, sensitive, detect and forecast issues, firmly protect the Party's ideological foundation, sharply fight against false and hostile arguments, and contribute to consolidating and cultivating people's trust. The press continues to be an important weapon in the fight against corruption, waste, negativity, bureaucracy, and social evils.
The press is identified as a component of culture, a leading force in building and developing Vietnamese culture and the Vietnamese people. Each journalist and each press agency must be a typical example, representing culture, a cultural agency, a cultural environment with cultured people, preserving the dignity, pride and self-respect of journalism, overcoming temptations and challenges, putting the interests of the Party, the Fatherland, the people and personal honor on every page, every press product.
The press continues to discover and praise typical factors, positive highlights, spread good values, affirm the dignity, soul, mettle, and intelligence of the Vietnamese people, and orient society towards the values of truth, goodness, and beauty. Through the bridge of the press, enhance the prestige and position of Vietnam, open up opportunities to selectively absorb the quintessence of human culture, enrich the national cultural identity, and strengthen the friendship between the Vietnamese people and progressive, peace-loving people and friends around the world.
Faced with the rapid development of science and technology, fierce competition from other information platforms and changes in the public's information reception behavior, the President requires each journalist to constantly self-study, self-research, proactively integrate internationally, innovate strongly, practice professionally, provide quality, reliable and convincing information on traditional platforms and especially digital technology platforms, to be able to attract, maintain the trust and respect of the public, conquer and capture the public's attention.
The revolutionary cause, the task of building and defending the Fatherland in the new period is posing extremely heavy but also very glorious requirements and tasks for the press nationwide. The President believes that, with the tradition of loyalty to the Party, attachment to the nation and people, the team of Vietnamese journalists will grow stronger and stronger, constantly improving their political qualities, professional capacity, professional ethics, successfully fulfilling their noble mission, being the vanguard force on the ideological and cultural front of the Party, worthy of the trust and expectations of the Party, the State and the people, worthy of the position of a press that is about to turn 100 years old.
