112 flights to Da Nang, of which 51 are international, foreign visitors increase sharply

On May 1, the Department of Tourism of Da Nang city said that during the 5-day holiday (from April 27 to May 1), Da Nang airport welcomed about 563 flights.

There are an average of 112 flights to Da Nang every day, including 61 domestic flights and 51 international flights.

Despite the hot weather, the total number of visitors and visitors staying in Da Nang during the holiday (5 days) reached more than 336,000, an increase of 11.6% over the same period in 2023. The increase in visitors during the holiday was mainly due to the strong recovery of international flights, with international visitors reaching about 72,000, more than double the same period in 2023.

Meanwhile, domestic visitors reached about 264,000 arrivals.

According to the survey, the room occupancy rate of 4-5 star and equivalent tourist accommodation establishments reached 70%. Meanwhile, the average occupancy rate of 3 star or lower tourist accommodation establishments was 45%, mostly individual guests.

As predicted before the holiday, the growth in visitors was mainly due to the sharp increase in foreign visitors to Da Nang.

Responding to Tuoi Tre Online , a member of the Da Nang City Tourism Association said this was predicted because domestic airfares are currently high, affecting tourists' trips.

This person said that high domestic airfares account for 1/2 to 2/3 of the cost of short-term trips, greatly affecting the tourist experience.

"The high price of airfare affects the exploitation of the flow of tourists at both ends of the country. On this occasion, our company exploits the flow of tourists at both ends of the country by train and sells some tours for groups of tourists from the Central region traveling by road," this person said.

Passengers traveling by train, ship, or waterway in Da Nang are all impressed.

A notable point during this holiday is that the number of tourists coming to Da Nang by train increased by more than 60% compared to the same period in 2023. It is estimated that more than 16,000 people came to Da Nang during the holiday by North-South trains.

In addition, the number of visitors participating in the Han River cruise experience reached about 20,800, an increase of 9% over the same period in 2023.
