The program to welcome and welcome the Clipper Race teams for the 2023-2024 season was solemnly and briefly held at the Ha Long International Passenger Port area, Quang Ninh province.
All 11 teams participating in the 2023-2024 Clipper Race completed Race 7, Leg 5 on February 19, two days ahead of schedule.
Welcome 11 sailing teams around the world to Ha Long
Race No. 7, part of the 5th leg of the Asia-Pacific Challenge, started at Coral Sea Port in Queensland, Australia and finished at Ha Long Bay, Quang Ninh Province, Vietnam, with a sea distance of 4,515 nautical miles.
The first boat to cross the finish line of race 7, stage 5 was Qingdao, arriving at Ha Long International Cruise Port at 1:20 p.m. on February 18. Finishing in second and third place were the Zhuhai and Unicef teams, respectively.

The racing team representing Quang Ninh province, named "Ha Long Bay, Viet Nam", led by British captain Josh Stickland, finished in 5th place at 10:30 on February 19. Currently, the racing team Ha Long Bay, Viet Nam is temporarily ranked 6th in the final rankings.
In Ha Long, the racing teams will have about two weeks to rest, visit Ha Long Bay and have many exchange activities, experience other famous tourist destinations in Quang Ninh.
The 2023-2024 Clipper Race Round the World Yacht Race will feature nearly 400 sailors on 11 yachts, divided into 8 legs with 16 individual races and 6 ocean crossings.
Last season, although it was the first time participating, the Ha Long Bay - Viet Nam sailboat of Quang Ninh excelled over many other racing teams, winning third place overall.

Quang Ninh province is taking advantage of this opportunity to promote its tourism image to tourists around the world, especially tourists from the European, North American and Australian markets.

Mr. Pham Van Hiep - Director of Ha Long International Passenger Port - emphasized that the Clipper Race round-the-world yacht racing team's choice to dock at Ha Long International Passenger Port has affirmed the long-term vision in tourism development when not only serving domestic tourists, but also needing a modern passenger port to become a destination for major international events.
As planned, on March 2, the teams will leave Ha Long Bay to go to Cuu Chau, Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province, China.
