Possess an impressive academic record

Born into a family with parents who are associate professors and doctors of law, Khanh Linh was exposed to legal topics early on. Family dinners not only included sharing about life but also discussing fairness and equality in social issues.

Just like that, she was drawn into the conversations, gradually nurturing her passion for Law. By the time she was in 6th grade, she had the opportunity to go to the US with her father and spend 1.5 years studying there, helping her clearly define her dream of studying abroad.

Determined to pursue her study abroad path, Khanh Linh began her preparation process in 10th grade. The female student spent hours studying for the SAT and IELTS exams, and actively participated in extracurricular activities to build an impressive profile. Thanks to her constant efforts, Linh achieved 1540/1600 SAT and 8.0 IELTS, and her IB (the world's prestigious International Baccalaureate) scores are also predicted to be near perfect.

Previously, surpassing thousands of contestants from 46 countries, Khanh Linh won the gold medal in the essay writing category at the final round of the World Scholar's Cup 2022 (an international team academic competition) at Yale University, USA. However, the highlight of the 10X's profile is not only in her score, but also in the meaningful social projects that she has persistently carried out for many years, related to gender equality and children's rights.

The female student and her friends founded the Thanh Nien Viet Nam news site, helping students access information about the law, gender equality and children's rights easily and appropriately for their age. Within a year, Khanh Linh and her colleagues published more than 30 articles, attracting the attention of many like-minded young people.

In addition, a project called HerStory was founded by 10X, aiming to organize educational workshops for more than 200 ethnic minority students about menstruation and gender equality, and at the same time mobilize funds and books for disadvantaged students. She also owns many impressive researches, notably the topic: "Promoting equal access to education for children in Vietnam", published in the Journal of Child Education.

Success starts with small things

Dr. Le Thi Tram Huong - in charge of Olympia's integrated program academics, a teacher advisor, commented that Linh is an excellent all-round student. In addition to her outstanding academic ability and passion for research, the female student always shines with her excellent leadership and adaptability, along with flexible communication skills in all situations.

"Teachers often call Linh a steel rose. She is always gentle, sociable and modest in the group, but inside is a unique identity with an extremely strong will, constantly challenging herself with rare determination and courage. Perhaps this is what has helped her continuously explore and expand her own limits," commented Ms. Huong.

Master Garima Gupta, IB teacher at Olympia, also assessed that Khanh Linh is one of the most inquisitive and critical thinking students she has ever taught.

“Linh’s analytical skills are truly outstanding. She goes beyond simply interpreting texts, asking critical questions, often uncovering deeper nuances of meaning that others might miss. Whether analyzing a political cartoon, decoding a poem, or assessing traditional biases in a speech, she consistently demonstrates sharp critical thinking combined with keen emotional intelligence,” said Ms. Garima Gupta.

When studying for the IB international certificate, instead of choosing 3 advanced subjects as usual, Khanh Linh studied 4 subjects, something that very few people choose. Experts assess that this is a big challenge for any good student.

Sharing about this decision, 10X said she wanted to challenge herself and prove to universities that she could pursue a rigorous, demanding academic program. With a spirit of not being afraid of difficulties, she saw it as an opportunity to train her thinking, improve her knowledge and best prepare for the road ahead.

"Besides my family, Olympia school teachers always accompany and create the best conditions for me to focus on completing my studies and preparing the most impressive application. Thanks to the dedicated guidance and valuable encouragement from teachers, I have more motivation to pursue my dream," Khanh Linh expressed.

In her essay to universities, the 10X shared the story of her hobby of embroidering pictures with her mother, an activity that seems simple but has many profound meanings. She compared each small embroidery stitch to each step in her life, perseverance and endurance.

"Any change starts with small things. I believe that as long as I persevere, each of my small projects will create a bigger impact, like stitches gradually connecting to create a complete picture," the 10X confided.

With passion and clear direction, Khanh Linh wishes to learn and develop from leading educational backgrounds, then apply the knowledge learned into practice, bringing positive and sustainable changes to the community.
