On the morning of May 4, Nam Dan district organized a voter consultation on the Project on rearranging commune-level administrative units for the 2023-2025 period in the district at 20 polling stations in 4 communes to be merged.
At the polling station in Hamlet 7, Xuan Lam Commune, the total number of voters whose list was finalized for voting was 466. By 8:50 a.m., 100% of voters had come to vote and the result was that 100% of voters agreed to the plan to merge the two communes of Hong Long and Xuan Lam.
Xuan Lam commune has 7 polling stations with a total of 5,201 voters whose list was finalized for voting. By 10:30 a.m. on May 4, 100% of voters had participated in voting in the 7 stations. The voting results in the 7 stations with the percentage of voters agreeing to the plan to merge Hong Long and Xuan Lam communes reached from 96.61% to 100%.
In the voting area of Thuong Nam hamlet (Hong Long commune), the total number of voters whose list was finalized for voting was 1,303 people and the voting participation rate reached 100%; of which 1,254/1,303 voters agreed to the plan to merge Hong Long commune and Xuan Lam commune, reaching 96.24%.
The results of the polling of voters in the entire Hong Long commune with a total of 3,828 voters on the final list and the rate of people participating in the polling reaching 100%; in which the number of voters agreeing with the Project on rearranging administrative units in the area reached 98.15%.
This morning, in 4 communes subject to the merger phase 2023 - 2025 of Nam Dan district, voters' opinions were simultaneously collected on the Project to rearrange administrative units in the area in 20 areas.
The total number of voters whose lists were finalized for voting in the four communes was 14,355; of which Xuan Lam commune had 5,201 voters; Hong Long commune had 3,828 voters; Nam Nghia commune had 2,929 voters; and Nam Thai commune had 2,377 voters. Voter voting in 20 areas of the four communes was completed, with 100% of voters participating in the vote.
According to the Project on rearranging commune-level administrative units in the period 2023 - 2025, Nam Dan district has 4 commune-level administrative units subject to rearrangement, including: Hong Long, Xuan Lam, Nam Thai and Nam Nghia.
It is planned to arrange and merge the entire natural area and population of Hong Long and Xuan Lam communes into a new commune, expected to be named Xuan Hong commune; merge the entire natural area and population of Nam Thai and Nam Nghia communes into a new commune, expected to be named Nghia Thai commune.
After the merger, Xuan Hong commune has a natural area of 16.75 km2 and a population of 14,475 people, Nghia Thai commune has a natural area of 23.90 km2 and a population of 9,774 people.
As a result of the reorganization, Nam Dan district reduced 2 commune-level administrative units, from 19 to 17 units. Including: Nam Dan town and 16 communes: Nam Hung; Thuong Tan Loc; Nam Thanh; Xuan Hoa; Nam Anh; Nam Xuan; Nam Linh; Hung Tien; Nam Giang; Kim Lien; Nam Cat; Khanh Son; Nam Kim; Trung Phuc Cuong; Nghia Thai; Xuan Hong.
Also on the morning of May 4, in Nghi Loc district, 4 communes subject to merger into Vinh city (Nghi Phong, Nghi Thai, Phuc Tho and Nghi Xuan) also conducted a survey of voters' opinions on the Project on rearranging administrative units at district and commune levels for the period 2023 - 2025.
