Top 10 schools with the highest 10th grade entrance exam scores in Ho Chi Minh City.

In Ho Chi Minh City, 10 schools set their 10th-grade entrance exam cutoff scores at 23 or higher, all showing an increase compared to last year. Nguyen Thuong Hien High School topped the list with 25.5 points.

At noon on July 7th, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training announced the entrance exam scores for 10th grade in 108 public high schools. The 10 schools with the highest entrance scores were Nguyen Thuong Hien High School, Gia Dinh High School, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School, Nguyen Huu Huan High School, Bui Thi Xuan High School, Phu Nhuan Tran Phu High School, Le Quy Don High School, Mac Dinh Chi High School, and Nguyen Huu Cau High School.

Compared to last year, the top 10 are still the same familiar names. All of them saw an increase of 0.5-1.25 points in their cutoff scores. Among them, Nguyen Thuong Hien High School and Gia Dinh High School saw the biggest increase - 1.25 points.

With the admission score being the sum of Math, Literature, Foreign Language scores and priority points (if any), candidates without bonus points must achieve an average of 8.5 in each subject to be admitted to Nguyen Thuong Hien High School; 7.6 or higher in each subject is required for admission to other schools in the top 10.

Candidates must submit their enrollment documents at the high school they have been accepted into between July 12th and 4 PM on July 26th; otherwise, their names will be removed from the list.

The Department of Education and Training requires schools not to accept or process requests to change their preferred choices of schools, and to only accept applications from candidates on their list of admitted 10th-grade students.

This year, out of nearly 96,000 candidates, approximately 77,300 were admitted to public high schools (80%). The remaining students can attend private high schools, vocational training centers, or vocational colleges. These institutions have enrollment quotas of around 55,000 students.

Previously, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training announced the cutoff scores for admission to specialized 10th-grade classes. The Biology specialized class at Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted had a cutoff score of 38.75/50 - the highest among all specialized 10th-grade classes in Ho Chi Minh City.
