On the evening of July 30, the National Costume performance within the framework of the Miss Grand Vietnam 2024 contest took place in Phan Thiet City (Binh Thuan) with many impressive designs.
According to director Hoang Nhat Nam, this is the first time the national costume competition has been performed next to the beach. With an outdoor stage, the director admits that he has to face many challenges in terms of weather, but in return, the show has the advantage of space.
The four designers who took on the role of coaches for the national cultural costume competition were Nguyen Viet Hung, Vu Lan Anh, Dang Trong Minh Chau and Nguyen Minh Cong. Many designs left an impression with their elaborate investment and impressive performances.
The highlight is the work “Thach Long Hoa Chich” by author Ngo Hai Dang performed by beauty Le Nam. The work borrows the image of Ninh Van stone craft village (Ninh Binh province) as design inspiration. The costume impresses with its sophisticated 3D flying dragon symbol.
With this performance, beauty Le Nam received many compliments from the audience for her captivating and impressive performance style through every movement and look.
The work “The Legend of Au Lac” by author Nguyen Quoc Dat, was inspired by the legend “The Dragon and the Fairy’s Descendants”. The costume is shaped with impressive circles and elaborate embellishments.
The work “Thuy Yen” by Chau Van Phuc performed by Miss Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc, was inspired by the image of a pliers (also known as a si van statue, a mascot in Vietnamese visual arts), a knife head…
The dress is densely decorated with colorful sequins and sparkling sequins. With the advantage of height, Miss Bao Ngoc fully conveys the spiritual beauty of the iconic design.
The work “Trung Vuong” inspired by the image of Hai Ba Trung by author Nguyen Huy Hoang was performed by beauty Bui Ly Thien Huong. The costume attracted attention with the image of an elephant going into battle with an impressive height of 3m.
However, this performance encountered an incident when it was inspired by the image of Hai Ba Trung but used a quote from Ba Trieu to present. Immediately after that, the Miss Grand Vietnam Organizing Committee apologized to the audience and admitted that there was a mistake in the information.
“Thien Hac” by author Le Thi Kim Dung was performed by runner-up Ngoc Thao. The costume takes the image of Lac bird in Dong Son culture as a highlight, representing upright people, with the desire to rise up and conquer the dreams of the Vietnamese people.
Designed with the main color tones of black and white, highlighting every detail simulating the sculpting technique, elaborate embellishment creates an impressive effect when performing.
“Lua nang Sen” by Bui Cong Thien Bao, performed by Miss Thanh Thuy. The design was made from Vietnamese lotus silk, a rare and expensive silk. Miss Thanh Thuy successfully conveyed the message praising the beauty and creativity of Vietnamese artisans.
“Echo of Tay Son” by author Dong Khang honors the patriotism, loyalty, talent and beauty of ancient women and is the pride of the martial arts land of Binh Dinh, impressively performed by the beauty Hanh Nguyen.
“Phoenix Leaves” by Nguyen Dang Khoa is inspired by the image of the phoenix in the four sacred animals, honoring the dignity, virtue and beauty of women. The work is designed with eye-catching wings, using 3D techniques and elaborate, sophisticated gilding and carving.
“Flowers on the Battlefield” by author Nguyen Minh Triet depicts the image of female general Nguyen Thi Banh. The costume honors the image of a resilient and indomitable female hero in the history of the nation.
With experience as a dancer, beauty Thuy Dung performed this costume by combining body movements, bringing complete emotions.
“Mai” by Nguyen Duy Hau was inspired by the image of apricot blossoms on Tet holiday. With sparkling stage effects, beauty Vu Thi Thu Hien performed impressively with a surprising apricot blossom display.
