Da Lat leads domestic destinations searched by Vietnamese tourists for Tet trips, while Thailand is the most popular international destination.
Booking.com, an online booking application based in the Netherlands, on the evening of December 11 announced the 10 domestic and international destinations most loved by Vietnamese tourists during the Lunar New Year 2025. The rankings are based on searches, bookings, and registrations for experiences at the destinations by tourists, from January 24 to February 9.
75% of Vietnamese tourists want to go to cool places during Tet, that destination must also meet the needs of relaxation as well as many experiences and adventures. Da Lat is a place that is suitable for all three factors above and has become the domestic destination chosen by most tourists to visit during Tet At Ty 2025, with a search growth rate of 300% compared to the same period last year.
The remaining destinations include Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Vung Tau, Hanoi, Mui Ne, Hoi An, Sa Pa.

The two coastal destinations of Nha Trang and Phu Quoc have seen search rates increase by 200% and 180% compared to the same period last year. According to the booking application, the two destinations attract tourists who love the sea and water sports. Major cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang are loved by tourists thanks to their rich history, culture, cuisine and vibrant life. Vung Tau is considered by tourists as an ideal place for those looking for a peaceful space. Hoi An and Sa Pa attract tourists thanks to their ancient beauty, poetic scenery and diverse culture.

Thailand, Japan, and Malaysia are the three countries most searched by Vietnamese tourists for international travel during Tet this year. Thanks to short flights, convenient travel, and no visa requirements, Thailand is always the top choice for Vietnamese tourists. Bangkok also leads the list of most searched international destinations, with double the growth compared to the same period last year. The next two names are Tokyo, Japan and Phuket, Thailand.
In addition, the booking platform pointed out that Vietnamese guests are looking for new experiences for the Lunar New Year. That is why Dubai, UAE, appeared on the list. The remaining destinations include Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul Chiang Mai, Ubud, Hong Kong.
Varun Grover, Country Manager of Booking.com in Vietnam, commented that during Tet this year, Vietnamese tourists tend to combine visiting familiar destinations and exploring new destinations.
"Vietnamese tourists are rewriting their own travel guidebooks," Grover said.
