THE is one of the four most prestigious and influential university ranking organizations in the world, alongside QS, ARWU and US News.
The prestigious university rankings were first published by THE in 2011. The database for this ranking is based on the opinions of experts. Each person will name a maximum of 15 schools that they think are the best, in the two criteria of Research and Teaching, with a score ratio of 2:1. As of 2023, nearly 38,800 scholars from 166 countries and territories around the world voted.
