TPO - In more than 1 year, there have been over 30 cases of theft of materials and equipment from power grids in Dong Nai province.

Dong Nai Power Company Limited (Dong Nai Power Company) has just coordinated with Dong Nai Provincial Police to launch a movement for the entire population to protect national security in conjunction with propaganda and dissemination of laws on security and order and instructions on how to handle cases of theft of electricity materials and equipment.

According to Dong Nai Electricity Company, in 2023 and the first 4 months of 2024, there were 31 cases of theft of power grid materials and equipment in the province.

Because the power grid is located in a large area, passing through many mountainous areas and remote areas with few people, the authorities face many difficulties in managing the power grid and equipment on the line.

Notably, Dong Nai is experiencing an upsurge in property theft from important national projects and works in Xuan Loc district, such as: theft of materials from the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway Project and materials from the electricity industry.

From 2023 to present, in Xuan Loc district, there have been 5 cases of theft of power grid materials and equipment with a total damage value of about 106 million VND.

According to Dong Nai Electricity Company, the protection of power grid equipment and materials is of great importance in protecting energy security. The electricity industry is in great need of special support, assistance, and coordination from the police force in investigating, handling, and finding the perpetrators of thefts as well as coordinating the protection of power grid equipment and materials.

Mobilizing the entire population to protect national security in conjunction with protecting the assets of the electricity sector is of great significance in maintaining security and order, safety of assets of the electricity sector, ensuring continuous power supply, serving production and business, national security and defense and people's lives.

Dong Nai Electricity Company is currently managing more than 600 km of 110kV lines, 39 transformer stations and nearly 14,000 medium and low voltage lines.
