President Vo Van Thuong has just signed Decision No. 1582/QD - CTN on conferring the title "Excellent Teacher" to 1,031 teachers nationwide.

People's Teacher and Excellent Teacher are the most noble titles to honor those who have made many contributions to the cause of education.

These are teachers with good moral qualities, enthusiasm, dedication to the profession, are shining examples, exemplary, typical, excellent teachers with wide influence in the industry and society, respected by students, colleagues and people; leading in innovation in educational management, teaching methods and testing, evaluation...

In addition to the above general criteria, according to regulations, teachers who are Excellent Teachers must meet other criteria such as being awarded the title "Emulation Fighter at the grassroots level" 7 times or being awarded the title of excellent teacher or lecturer at the same level 7 times or being awarded the title "Emulation Fighter at the grassroots level" and excellent teacher or lecturer at the same level 7 times, including one time in the year of proposal for award; being awarded the title "Emulation Fighter" at the provincial or ministerial level once or the title of excellent teacher or lecturer at the provincial or ministerial level once; being awarded a Certificate of Merit at the provincial or ministerial level once.

For teachers and educational managers working in areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions: Have been awarded the title of "Emulation Fighter at the grassroots level" 5 times or have been awarded the title of excellent teacher at the same level 5 times or have been awarded the title of "Emulation Fighter at the grassroots level" and excellent teacher at the same level 5 times, including one time immediately following the year of the proposed award.

In terms of expertise, teachers who are awarded the title of Excellent Teacher must be high-quality and effective teachers; have many contributions in innovating programs, content, and teaching methods to improve the quality of education and training effectiveness... Preside over initiatives or scientific research topics that have been effectively applied in teaching and education...

In addition, teachers must have at least 15 years of direct teaching experience. Educational administrators must have at least 20 years of working experience in the industry, including 10 years or more of direct teaching experience.

Previously, in August 2023, the 16th State Council for considering the award of the title of People's Teacher and Excellent Teacher organized a public consultation on 1,225 candidates.

According to the announced list, the total number of candidates proposed for the title of People's Teacher in 2023 is 24, of which 19 are from ministries and branches; 5 are from localities.

The total number of candidates proposed for the title of Excellent Teacher in 2023 is 1,201 people, of which 144 are from ministries, branches and sectors directly under ministries and the National University; 1,057 are from localities.
