Long An A gasoline tanker truck running on the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong highway suddenly caught fire, the driver was burned, the road was congested for nearly 10 km, on the afternoon of February 15.
At around 2 p.m., a male driver of a tanker truck with a Tien Giang license plate was driving on the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong highway, heading to the West. When he reached Loi Binh Nhon commune, Tan An city, smoke and fire erupted from the rear of the car.

The driver took the initiative to drive the tanker down the highway ramp towards Highway 62 and used a fire extinguisher to put out the fire, but was unsuccessful. Some people nearby called the fire police.
Many soldiers and fire trucks arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire. The fire caused severe damage to the tanker truck, the driver suffered minor burns to his face and hands. The highway through the area was congested for nearly 10 km. Police had to be on duty at the entrance to regulate traffic.

The Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway is 62 km long, has 4 lanes, and has been in operation since 2010, with a maximum speed of 100 km/h. In early 2019, the toll collection on the road stopped, and the number of vehicles then increased by over 30%, to 40,000-50,000 vehicles per day, causing the road surface to be overloaded and damaged.
